Intuit's FY2027 reset turns AI optimism into a slower-growth stock test

bearish·Impact 4/5 · high confidence

Analysis by Frank Locascio and TheBRRR Research

What happened

Intuit guided FY2027 revenue to $23.28–$23.51 billion, or 9–10% growth, below the $23.72 billion LSEG consensus and down from 14% growth in FY2026. TurboTax growth is guided to 2–3% versus 7%; Mailchimp is flat to down 1%; management cited weaker marketing-platform sales, desktop decline and lower TurboTax average revenue per customer as it pursues user growth. Beginning FY2027, non-GAAP results include SBC, with a stated $5.81 per-share impact on annual adjusted EPS.

Why it earned coverage

A post-cutoff earnings guide materially lowers growth and makes the stock's moat and AI claims answer to customer and cash-flow evidence.

Investment transmission

When customer acquisition requires lower ARPC and a legacy marketing product stalls, revenue growth slows before AI services demonstrate incremental paid attach. A lower growth denominator increases the burden on margin, retention and multiple support.

What would invalidate it

New-customer growth accelerates without retention or margin damage, Mailchimp stabilizes, paid AI services create incremental revenue, and organic growth returns above 10% with disciplined SBC.
